Last Russian selection tour was held in cold winter weather. It was snowing, the ice covered rivers and the temperature was about 11 degrees below zero! For passing river special zones participants had to break ice.

“Expedition-Trophy” holds two selection tours in regions of Russia. Two most active cities were selected — Perm in Urals (9-th selection) and Samara in Volga region. Last weekend a selection tour was held there.

Because of low activity in regions the qualifying rounds of the “Expedition Trophy 2006” are still taking place near Moscow. On the 6-7th of August there were 5 teams registered but none of them showed up in the camp, set in Zvenigorod Region. Nevertheless it was decided not to put off the round till the next week — so there were 4 teams competing: “Amur” (Moscow), “2+1” (Moscow, Kiev), “Tentorium” (Perm) and “Aeroflot” (Moscow).

9 и 10 июля 2005 недалеко от подмосковного города Дмитрова прошел третий отборочный тур в Гонку "Экспедиция-Трофи 2006". На этот отбор подали заявки 5 команд, но одна из них не смогла приехать в экспедиционный лагерь. Чтобы остальным участникам не пришлось добираться в другой регион (напомним, что это был последний московский этап отборов), Организаторы решили не переносить отборочный тур на следующие выходные. Таким образом, в четвертом отборе участвовало только четыре команды.
